Cleversafe Manager
Role: UX Designer, UI Developer
As part of the Cleversafe team, I spent over a decade shaping the user experience for the management interface of a dispersed storage network appliance. The Cleversafe Manager served as the central hub for configuring, monitoring, and maintaining distributed storage systems—an essential tool for administrators managing large, mission-critical environments.
When I joined the project, the interface relied heavily on static HTML forms, requiring deep system knowledge and extensive manual steps to perform key operations. I led the effort to redesign the Manager into a clean, intuitive interface that emphasized clarity, consistency, and ease of use. This transformation not only modernized the look and feel but also significantly improved task efficiency and reduced cognitive load for users.
One of the most impactful UX wins was the automation of the upgrade process, reducing what had been a 1,500-step manual procedure to just two guided actions. This change eliminated error-prone workflows and gave administrators a sense of confidence and control. I also designed and implemented a custom graphing system using flot.js, providing real-time visual feedback for metrics like CPU temperature and fan speeds, helping users quickly interpret system health at a glance. Additionally, I created an Event Console that allowed users to search, filter, and analyze system logs with greater precision—making troubleshooting faster and more intuitive.
Through each iteration, my focus remained on simplifying complexity: translating deeply technical processes into experiences that felt approachable, efficient, and human-centered.
Key Outcomes:
- Reduced upgrade process steps from 1,500 to 2, improving reliability and reducing human error.
- Modernized legacy UI into a cohesive, user-friendly interface that improved task efficiency.
- Enhanced system visibility with real-time data visualization for key performance metrics.
- Improved troubleshooting through a searchable, filterable event console that reduced time-to-resolution.
Workout Buddy
Role: UX Designer & Prototyper

Workout Buddy is a conceptual mobile app designed to help users plan, track, and optimize their workouts. The idea began as an exploration into how fitness tracking could feel more approachable and customizable for everyday gym-goers. The goal was to create an experience that balanced structure and flexibility—allowing users to easily build personalized workout routines without feeling overwhelmed by data or configuration.
In the concept, users can browse a curated list of exercises and filter them by muscle group, helping them discover new movements tailored to their goals. Each exercise can be added to a workout plan with a selected number of sets and repetitions, which the app tracks as the workout progresses. The design also accounts for future integration with Fitbit and Apple Watch, enabling real-time heart rate monitoring and performance insights during sessions.

This project consisted of a two-page interactive mockup, created to demonstrate my ability to brainstorm, structure, and rapidly prototype a design concept from scratch. My focus was on crafting a clear information hierarchy, intuitive navigation, and a visually engaging interface that could translate seamlessly into a real product. Though the app has not yet been developed, the prototype illustrates how thoughtful design and iteration can turn a simple idea into a compelling, user-centered experience
Key Outcomes:
- Developed a complete user flow from exercise discovery to tracking within a two-page prototype.
- Demonstrated rapid ideation and prototyping skills using design tools to communicate the concept clearly.
- Showcased an understanding of fitness user needs, such as simplicity, progress tracking, and motivation.
- Designed for future scalability, including wearable device integration and live performance data.
